Ms Hendricks is originally from Chesapeake, VA and joined Woodhome for the 2021-2022 school year to teach middle school math. She has experience teaching math at a middle school in Norfolk, VA and we are thrilled to have her on our team!

Ms Hendricks received her Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Hampton University in 2017. She then received her Master's in Journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in 2020. In 2021 she became a Teach for America corps member and received her teaching certification through the Johns Hopkins University School of Education.

The reason Ms Hendricks chose Woodhome is because she wanted to join an uplifting community who prioritizes the holistic wellbeing of their students, staff, and fellow community members! She has had the privileges of producing a documentary series in China during her senior year at Hampton University and she was an NBC Sports Production Intern for the 2020 Olympics (before it was cancelled due to the pandemic). In 2019 Ms Hendricks had a capstone project and chose to make it a documentary series on the school-to-prison pipeline. For this she received the Hewlett Foundation Education Scholarship to support her research!
